Specifications for Course Material Covers
From 2007 the University has introduced a standard cover for course material that is printed and sold through the bookshop. As part of the process of providing a uniform cover design, the specifications regarding information and style are to be further refined. This is to ensure conformity and consistency across the University.
The organisation “offering” the unit is to appear in the banner. The organisation is to be at Departmental level—the only exceptions being those few units that are offered by a whole Division. The naming convention for the Departments will be as they appear in the Macquarie University Calendar of
Governance, Legislation and Rules (http://www.handbook.mq.edu.au) .
The information will be in bold Arial font, as recommended in the University’s Visual Identity Guide (http://www.mq.edu.au/vig/typefaces.htm).
The unit code and unit name will appear immediately below the banner. This information is as it appears in the current Macquarie University Handbooks of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies. The unit code will be in bold Arial font. The unit name will be printed in regular Arial font.
Any remaining information that Departments want to include on the cover will appear immediately below the unit name. It will also be printed in regular Arial font, unless prior arrangement is made with Printery regarding usage of other possible fonts.
